Overview
Coming from an in-depth understanding of complex finance and tax law, Daniel concentrates his practice on drafting tailored estate plans that are tax efficient and flexible. In order to best serve his clients, Daniel is licensed to practice law in South Dakota, Florida, Wisconsin, and Ontario (Canada).
Daniel obtained his license in South Dakota, because South Dakota is the best trust jurisdiction in the United States. He is licensed in Florida, because many clients are snowbirds who hold Florida real estate. As a member of the Florida Bar, Daniel competently advises Florida snowbirds and he is able to efficiently transfer their Florida real estate to the trust or entity of their choice. When necessary, Daniel can also complete the estate tax return and serve as counsel for a personal representative who needs guidance relating to an ancillary probate in Florida. Daniel became a member of the Ontario Bar Association in order to help Canadians who need a cross-border estate plan that will work as intended in both Ontario and Florida.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Daniel was a certified public accountant (“CPA”). As a CPA, he worked as a tax accountant preparing individual, trust, and estate tax returns. Daniel continues to provide this service as an attorney which allows him to help his clients fulfill their tax compliance responsibilities. In addition, he is also able to meet with his tax clients on an annual basis to ensure that their estate plan continues to meet with their expectations.
Finally, in certain unique situations, Daniel may provide fiduciary services to clients. This includes serving as the trustee or trust protector of a South Dakota trust.
Prior Experience
Before founding Glinert & Associates, PLLC, Daniel was an associate at Neider & Boucher, S.C. where he drafted both complex and simple estate plans. In addition, Daniel served as tax counsel for the trustees of certain trusts domiciled in Wisconsin or South Dakota.
Prior to starting his legal career, Daniel worked as a certified public accountant. While in that role, Daniel prepared individual, trust, and partnership tax returns.
Outside Interests
When he’s not practicing law, Daniel enjoys reading, honing his tennis serve, and taking long walks on the beach.
